5th Grade Middle School Visitation

It is time for our 5th graders to visit the middle school and complete course selection for next year. Attached is some information on the visit from Garcia and Hodges Bend Middle School. Also, see the information on lunches on the day of the visit.

7 Habits

I hope you continue to talk about and practice the 7 habits at home. This month we are encouraging students to make a poster of ways that they use Habit #4 at home. Think win-win helps with conflict resolution where everyone comes out a winner. I am looking forward to seeing the amazing poster and putting them on the announcements in the morning.

COVID Vaccines at Holley- 2nd Dose information

Holley will be offering a vaccine clinic for Ages 5-11 on February 3rd, 2022 (2nd dose) from 4:30pm-7:30pm! Please consider having your child vaccinated. Here is the link to sign up with and attachments with more information and paperwork.

COVID Update

As the country has a surge in COVID cases, Holley will go back to checking student's temperatures in the morning before they get out of the cars and off the bus. If students have a temperature or are having symptoms, they will not be allowed to attend school. We want to keep our students safe from contracting the virus. If you child is showing any symptoms, please do not send them to school. We are also highly encouraging students and staff to wear mask during the school day. Parents will not be able to come to lunch with their child until further notice. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Stay safe, stay healthy.

While masks are not mandated, we are highly encouraging students wear them with this very contagious variant of COVID that is circulation through the nation. Most students are requesting a mask upon arrival at school, however because of the supply chain issues in the country right now, we have almost depleted our supply. If you can, please send your child to school wearing a mask and an extra just in case they need it after lunch.

Girls on the Run

Holley Elementary is excited to launch Girls on the Run for 3rd – 5th Grade girls! This program uses a mix of fun activities, lessons and running to teach girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. District of Innovation Survey

Fort Bend ISD seeks to renew its District of Innovation (DOI) designation through the renewal of the Local Innovation Plan. The Local Innovation Plan provides the District with greater local control in decision-making to benefit FBISD students and staff.

The District of Innovation designation allows Fort Bend ISD the autonomy from specified state requirements within the Texas Education Code in order to invoke innovative solutions on behalf of students and staff.

FBISD wants stakeholder input on the draft of the Local Innovation Plan. The Local Innovation Plan public comment survey is open until 11:59 p.m. on February 1, 2022.

The District Planning Advisory Council (DPAC) will hold a public meeting to consider and vote on the final version of the proposed plan. The meeting will be held in the FBISD Board Room on February 2, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.

For more information, please visit https://www.fortbendisd.com/innovation.

As we start the second semester, teachers are running low on glue, pencils, notebook paper and Kleenex's. Many times, teacher spend their own money on replenishing supplies. It would be very much appreciated if you would pick up some extra supplies when you are out shopping.

Become a Mentor

If you would like to mentor students in reading, please see the attached flyer and sign up. You would be working with students from Holley. We appreciate your support.

Health and PE Textbook Considerations

If your child is a car rider, please leave the car rider number posted until your child is in the car. This will help speed up the process.

Free and Reduced Lunch

Each year we ask that if students qualify for free and reduced lunch to please fill out the application to ensure that your student is getting their meals free or reduced. Follow the link for access to the form.

Extra Clothes

It is always a good idea to have extra clothing in your child's backpack if they are in the younger grades. Sometimes they have accidents and are more comfortable in their own clothes rather than receiving clothes from the nurse's office.
