IMPACT PROGRAM - Providing mental health services in the school setting now and through the summer
We are in some challenging times. There are more stressors for our teens to deal with than ever before; social media bullying, a pandemic, and a rapidly changing society. The stress our teens can experience if left unchecked can build and build until it becomes a chronic issue. This can lead to excessive worry, withdrawal, and aggressive behavior to name a few. Sometimes teens are dealing with even more on top of that such as the loss of a loved one, past trauma; an issue that rocked that student's sense of safety and worth (i.e. divorced parents, blended families, moving to another place, or a hard break up that one just can't get over).
At times, teens just need someone other than their parents to talk to, parents sometimes need an expert in the area of mental health to assist. The services offered by IMPACT equip the youth with the skills to assess, alter and maintain healthy living and learning styles at school, home, and the community. If you are interested in learning more about the program, please contact your child's school counselor at 813.672.5405.
