Volunteer Opportunity
Our school has enjoyed partnering with the Musk Ox Farm this past year. Their 16th Annual "Running with the Bulls" is on Sunday, August 12th this year. It is a 1K (for kids), 5K or 10K race through the pasture and chutes. Our school has offered to send volunteers and maybe even some runners!
The kids' race starts at 1:00 and is followed by the 5K and 10K (for kids and adults). Find more information and register to race on their web site.
($15 for kids and $30 for adults in advance, higher prices on the day of) https://www.active.com/palmer-ak/running/distance-running-races/16th-annual-running-with-the-bulls-2018
Volunteers are needed to direct racing traffic and cheer on the runners. If your family group would like to work at this event, contact dani@muskoxfarm.org. Bring your own water and snacks, a sign if you want to wave one, maracas, bells or noise maker, and a folding chair. Volunteer shifts are available between 10 and 5 for set up, clean up and course monitoring. If you want to help during the race, you would need to be available between 12 or 12:30 and 3 as they will drop you off at your monitoring/cheering spot. Some spots are within walking distance and others are further out in the pastures.
Join us for a fun filled day of community involvement. Live music and food are provided.
