The Importance of Being in the School by 7:25 am
When a student enters the room late, it disrupts the flow of the class, and the adult has to stop to correct the electronic attendance - taking time and attention from everyone else. Additionally, there is usually a "roadmap" for the class explained in the first few minutes of a period. When a student misses this portion, the rest of the class period is less clear.
Your cooperation is appreciated.

OCTOBER 28, 2022
Mrs. Lavere acknowledges:
Kevin Brown for doing the right thing when he realized a substitute had not arrived in his classroom and came to the office to report it.
Ms. Fountain acknowledges:
Benny Calixto, Winn Ritter, and Louie Camp for helping to teach English class when I lost my voice this week. I appreciate your leadership in the classroom.
Ms. Lair acknowledges:
Ahmed Omer for being a role model for his classmates. Not only is he an excellent athlete, but he also has leadership skills that go beyond the classroom.
Mr. Friedel acknowledges:
Haleigh Switzer for maturity and willingness to help others and be an excellent role model.
Jah’mir Jacobs for having an infectiously positive attitude and super class participation.
Mrs. Truelson acknowledges:
Jasmine Arnold for using her time wisely when she is in the library. She can be found with her work spread out on the table, working diligently. Keep up the good work Jasmine! I see you!
Mr. Ludwig acknowledges:
Mr. James Williams for the amazing work he does in the custodial arts. He takes on the Sisyphean task of cleaning up the lunchroom. His work ethic and selfless duty to our students should be applauded.
Alfonzo Perkins for being an exceptional young man that has shown great enthusiasm for all things Irondequoit. His ever-present smile and can-do attitude will take him for when he graduates at the end of this school year.
Mrs. Bowerman and Ms. Fountain acknowledge:
Treana Sanchez for her work ethic and her commitment to her education this year.
Mr. Edwards acknowledges:
Arthur Holloway (who I just met today).
I observed him as he was assisting a young man in the hallway who had some special needs, and I was so impressed with how patient, kind, and genuinely concerned he was with helping this young man. It was fairly clear to me that he didn't know this student previously, but he was such a resource.
