Fun With Firsties
November 14, 2016
Curriculum Highlights
Math-This week begins Topic 5 in our math curriculum. In this topic, we will be working with addition and subtraction equations. Students will work to find the unknown number in an equation, determine whether certain equations are true or false, and determine how to make true equations.
Faith in First
During the upcoming weeks, prior to Christmas as we enter into the Advent Season, the first graders will be exploring ways to get ready for Jesus' coming. The children will understand the ways that Mary and Joseph got ready to greet their newborn son, Jesus the King.
You are encouraged to practice ways of "getting ready" at your home as well. Display an Advent wreath at your table, pray before meals together. Practice ways to show love and care for all friends and family. In doing these little things everyone will be prepared in their hearts to welcome Jesus on Christmas Day!
