Track and Field Days
We are excited for some fun outdoor events with students in the coming days. This Friday students in Kindergarten - Second grade will be participating in Field events. On Monday, students in Third and Fourth grade will have track and field events at the High School. If you're interested and available to help, please contact your child's teacher.
*In the event of inclement weather, the events will be cancelled.
Last Day of School Picnic
Families are invited to our second annual all-school picnic on Tuesday, June 6th! Students will be eating in the north lawn from 11:00 - 11:45. As a reminder, parents or family members that are attending must bring their own food that day if they'd like to eat.

Changes coming for SES for 17-18
As a follow-up to the recent parent survey we asked SES families to fill out, we received positive feedback about a couple of changes we have been looking at making that we feel will benefit students. Consequently, we are excited about a couple of changes coming for the 17-18 school year and want to share them with you:
- First, breakfast will now be served each day from 7:45 - 8:05 in the cafeteria. This will allow for students to have more hot breakfasts and will free up additional time during the school day making the lunch recess 10 minutes longer. As a reminder, the school start time will remain at 8:05. However, students arriving at 8:05 will be too late to be served breakfast.
- Second, SES is moving from quarters to trimesters next year. This will allow us to better structure our parent-teacher conferences around grading and intervention cycles and provide teachers with a longer window to get a more accurate assessment of each student's learning.
We will remind you about these changes again, but we wanted to make sure you were aware of them too. Please contact the office if you have questions.
RAILS tickets - Update!
SES Students earned a "star" for the wall in May with demonstrating positive behavior on the playground. As a reward, students were able to attend a movie at either the High School (Kindergarten and First Grade) or the Palace Theater downtown (Second, Third, and Fourth grades).
