#trueNorth Times
North Forney High School Newsletter - October 2020
Taking It Stride By Stride
Similar to a runner, our campus personnel is careful in every step we take: our students are setting the standard in following safety procedures, our staff is leading the way in making equity an everyday commitment and our administration continuously ensures that every member of the North Forney Family is a priority. Instead of simply allowing societal circumstances to overcome us, NFHS strategically finds ways to grow stronger through it all.
Although the first quarter is coming to an end, we will continue to do our part as students, staff and administrators. As we stay committed to #excellence, we will do so in consideration of all that our Falcons are facing. We will support one another as we take this year stride by stride.

A Message from Principal Jung
Falcon Nation,
Welcome to the highly anticipated 2020-2021 school year! I am so proud of the way our campus staff, district leadership, and entire community have rallied together to successfully and safely begin the school year. I want to thank Dr. Justin Terry, our superintendent, for his leadership and #excellence. He truly is making tough decisions to put our schools and all of our FISD students in the best situation possible. He has a heart to see students connect and engage in quality instruction and extracurriculars no matter the learning platform.
Thank you NFHS teachers for the countless hours you continue to spend preparing engaging lessons, balancing Face-to-Face and virtual learning, navigating technology challenges, and your relentless pursuit to #educate all students. You continue to roll with the punches and not give up. Our students are lucky to have you leading the way!
Thank you students and parents for your commitment to #trueNorth. You #empower us to keep doing our very best. You are the reason why we work so hard. We are here to serve you!
Although the global pandemic and racial unrest continue to present challenges and impact our lives, North Forney High School will continue to #Commit2Equity. This simply means we will provide each and every student with what they individually need to be successful academically, socially, and emotionally. No matter the learning platform and societal challenges, we are committed to quality learning opportunities for all students in a safe and inclusive environment.
Thank you for the ways you support North Forney High School and our mission to reach our #trueNorth!
Michael Jung
Proud Principal of North Forney High School

Top September Social Media Moments
Facebook Post with the Highest Engagement
The Facebook post earning the most clicks and reactions was the newspaper clipping of the Goonville victory over Frisco Lone Star, the Number 2 team in Texas at the time. Reaching nearly 4,000 Facebook users and creating more than 700 engagements, the post created another opportunity to celebrate our Varsity Football team.
Top Tweet of September
The top Tweet was one consisting of a video and photos of the NF Family showing support for the Spurgeon Family during our "Orange Out" day. Earning over 2,800 impressions, Twitter users were able to see our students and staff fighting together for the Spurgeons doing Leukemia Awareness Month.
Instagram Post with the Furthest Reach
The Instagram post with the furthest reach was one showing off new staff t-shirts! The shirts are important because of what they represent. Ask a staff member to turn around when wearing it, and you will see our 2020-21 school year motto clearly: #commit2equity.
