From the Heart
Team,
Can you believe we begin November this Friday? I know many people begin their 30 days of gratitude posting on Facebook, some people decide not to shave, and others just count down to a food overload on Thanksgiving Day. This month I would like all of us at Collegiate Academy to take a moment each day to be grateful. I challenge you to write a note each day to someone you are grateful for or maybe to truly live in gratitude, you need to make the relationship right. The key to happiness is with a grateful heart. Stress, worry, anger, and unforgiveness cause us not to enjoy life. If you live in a state of gratitude, I guarantee you will be happy, content and excited to serve others. What we do here at CA demands courage and gratitude. I am grateful to serve with each one of you!
"Gratitude unlocks all that's blocking us from really feeling truthful, really feeling authentic and vulnerable and happy." Gabrielle Bernstein
Shoutout to Tito for a great night of Volleyball! Thank you for all you are doing for our students!
Shoutout to Lauren for her wonderful Podcast interview with Dr. Ryan! Great job Lauren!
Don't forget to have your conferences with every student that failed for the 9 weeks. Aaron created a fantastic academic contract and goal setting template that I'm sure he would share if you need it. Remember that differentiation for ability gives all students an entry way to learning in your classroom. If you need ideas or help with your lesson plans, Lauren would love to visit with you! Please reach out to her!
Have a great week and be Courageous!

Lauren's Learnings
I can't believe we are already bringing October to a close!
Thank you for sharing with me how you differentiated with rigor and relevance last week! Mrs. Martinez's Algebra 1 students predicted trends in slopes with given equations. Ruiz created a pathway in his lesson about wavelength and frequency for students who were still working on skills and understanding to step up and work in quadrant D. It was so nice to hear stories of how students benefited from your work! I look forward to seeing what our kids can accomplish in the second quarter.
I will be out on Monday and Tuesday for a district meeting, but I will see you guys on Wednesday!
