4th Grade - Inventions

The Inventions project was partially based on the platform of Problem Based Learning. The students were given the freedom to pick the invention that was of interest to them and develop the questions to answer. SAMR was initiated as the the final project was a choice of a posterboard, poster they displayed on the Elmo, or a document they created on the computer.

10th Grade-World History-Revolutions

Using the BIE.org planning sheets for Problem Based Learning, we focused on letting the students work in small groups and take charge of choosing their revolution, revolutionary and presentation of the information they found. Presentations varied from interviews of the revolutionary to a Prezi.

2nd Grade - Animals

How exciting for the 2nd graders to begin a big research project!! The students were required to get information from a print source and a web source. Our collaboration with the LP Library, helped supplement our collection. They will be making presentations in the LMC during the week of April 27th.

Public Library Collaboration

I went to the LP Library to look at the Verso program they are getting ready to put into service in the next month. It looks similar to our Follett program and we are looking to a smooth transition.

Library Mission

The mission of the South Central Library Media Center is to ensure that students and staff are users of ideas and information, promote reading, integrate technology and foster collaboration.
