During the Month of January, any student who exemplifies being a GLOBAL THINKER or OPEN MINDED should receive an Baseball/ Trading Card from a staff member. Every staff member will have a total of three Global Thinker Cards & 3 Open Minded Cards in your mailboxes in the front office on Monday, January 8th. When you give the trading card to an individual, please have the student pose with the card & take a “selfie”. The students get to keep this card as a reminder of their good work. The expectation is that you give out ALL Trading Cards & submit “student selfie’s” to Amy.Brewer@cabarrus.k12.nc.us during the month of January!!! So try if at all possible to give out one of each of your cards each week!!!

Plan for Students based on BUS - important!
Thank you to everyone who completed the Behavior Universal Screener. After many hours of analyzing the data from the BUS, discussing interventions and individual students, we have finally developed a plan for the upcoming weeks.
Highest External Behaviors seen at CMS: -Impulse Control -Ignores Directions -Disruption ex: blurting out Highest Internal Behaviors seen at CMS: -Limited Peer Interaction -Lacks Self Advocacy -Nervous or anxious -Put Down Self
Based off of the above concerns, we have developed the following Social Skill Groups that will take place one day a week for 6 weeks during Miner Time beginning 2nd semester (January 23): Suspension Prevention Group; Girls Group (Self Esteem); Boys Group (Self Esteem); Girls Group (No More Drama); Impulse Control; Attendance Group; Man Up; Responding Appropriately.
