Want students to research the CORRECT way?
Google Search Education
It is always hard to teach students the safe, efficient way to research. However, Google now has made it easier on teachers by coming up with lesson plans on search literacy AND "A Google A Day" Challenges for teachers to start utilizing!
Lesson Plans
Divided into beginner, intermediate, and advanced, there are a variety of lesson plans for teachers to use to teach students how to search the correct way.
Examples of topics are:
- Picking the right search term
- Understanding search results
Check it out here and let me know how it goes!
A Google A Day Challenge
You can do this in two ways AFTER you have taught students how to search.
1) You can go through the previously made google search challenges with your class on the pre-made google slides and have students complete the challenge.
2) You can have them go to: www.agoogleaday.com and they can start answering search questions in a game mode. They can do this anytime on their own with free time!
Kid Friendly Search Engines
I have started this Google Doc of "Kid-Friendly Search Engines." Please add to this if you know of any so we can utilize this as a district!
