By Cesar Apaez

Early Life

Roald Dahl was born in the 13th of September, 1916. His birth place was at Llandaff, southern Wales. His parents are Norwegian parents. He was named after a Norwegian national hero. When he was three, His sister and his dad died leaving his mom taking care of him and his siblings. He first attended at a Cathedial school and then he transferred to a boarding school named St.Peter's school. At first he was homesick and wrote letters to his mom. After leaving St.Peter's, he said that being there was "the first great adventure of my life". He went to Repton, a public school near Derby. While being there, pupils would test eat chocolate bars that the chocolate company, Calbury would sent them occasionally. Those moments would later inspire Roald to write Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. HE left Repton at the age of 18. After leaving Repton, he worked for Shell, a gasoline company. After working a few years with them, he would leave Shell to fight for the RAF in WW2. He later crashed his plane and had severe injuries to the body and the head.

Later Life

After not able to fly, he wrote at Washington D.C. He later wrote the book, The Gremlins. He also wrote his first book collection and a dystopian novel named" Some Time Never". He later seperated with his wife and later died on the 23rd of November, 1990.

Charlie And the Chocolate Factory

Charlie and the chocolate factory is one of my favorite books. When Roald Doald was at Repton, Cadbury would send chocolate bars to the pupils and they would taste test them. This inspired Roald to write Charlie and the Chocolate factory. The book became so famous that they made a movie of the book. Several years later, they made another movie about it. The book is about a poor boy named Charlie and Not far away from his house is a big chocolate factory. The chocolate factory is owned by a man named Willy Wonka. Charlie adores the chocolate that Wonka makes. No one has ever seen the man or his workers for years. Out of the sudden, Willy Wonka forms a contest which makes the 5 winners enter his factory for a tour. Everyone in the world wants to win but there can only be 5 winners. Charlie was the last winner and takes the tour. A lot of unexpected events happen in the factory.
