Message from Wanda Massey--Social Worker
Check In Check Out is an evidence based practice that has many benefits for any student with mild to major behavior concerns. I love to design custom ones for kids, so please do not hesitate to ask if it is something you think your student may benefit from.
In an effort to increase student/staff relationship and also to make the Check In Check Out process more effective, we would like to know who is willing to be a Check Out staff member. Anybody can be a Check Out staff member, including teachers. The idea is that students who are on a Check In Check Out sheet have another adult in the building they can talk to about their behavior goals. It is very simple. All staff has to do is have a quick moment with the student to praise them for reaching their goals or to remind them what they can try the next day to reach their goals if they don't. It does not take longer than 5 minutes. My goal this year is to recruit as many CICO adults as possible so no adult has more than 2 students to Check out with at the end of the day. It becomes less effective when one adult has too many kids in their room at 3:30 because they are assigned too many students, hence the effort to have more adults.
Again, any staff member can be a Check-Out person, including paras and custodial staff. If you would like to volunteer to help our kids by being a Check Out staff member, please record your name under "Check Out Staff Member" in this spreadsheet. We already have teachers hoping to get their kids rolling.
Thanks Everyone

Message Regarding COVID:
Attached the latest COVID-19 guidance for your reference. Any positive cases must isolate at home for 5 days with day 0 being the day of symptom onset OR the day of the positive test if no symptoms are present. If symptoms are improving or have resolved, they may return to school on day 6 but MUST wear a mask while at school on days 6 through 10.
Exposed individuals do not have to isolate but should monitor themselves for the development of any symptoms for 10 days and should test if symptoms develop.
