Comb your hair and put on your favorite shirt...it's time for Spring Pictures! Reed Portrait Group will be taking spring pictures first thing in the morning on Friday, March 18th. There won't be any order forms ahead of time, instead you'll receive your proofs and an order form a few weeks later.


Congrats to Mrs. Beaty's class for winning the Golden Skate Award with the most attendance at last week's skating party! Mr. Anderson's class came in 2nd and Mrs. Cogan's class came in 3rd place.

Thank you to all who attended and made it such a success! There were 114 skaters in attendance earning a $206 donation to Schumacher!


The Miles of Smiles Portable Dental Program will be offered at Schumacher April 4th through April 13th. Miles of Smiles is a full service dental program that provides free dental care to children of the Northland. This free service is made available through private donations and Missouri Medicaid funding. If your child participates in the program, his or her dental care will be provided on site, at Schumacher, by a licensed dentist.

Please compete the registration form and sign both the front and the back on the indicated lines. You must have this form completed and signed and returned to school by March 21st. If you have Medicaid, please include the necessary information. This service is provided completely free to your child, as long as you meet the income guidelines as indicated on the back of the form. Forms will be sent home this Friday or you can find it here and here.

Every three weeks former Schumacher Shark Lily Soto receives a blood transfusion in her battle with Diamond Blackfan Anemia. She relies on the gift of life and the blood donors who make her future possible. Please join us at the semi-annual Lily Soto Blood Drive here at Schumacher on Friday, March 25th between 1:00 and 7:00pm.

VOLLEYBALL OPPORTUNITY FOR 3rd-7th Graders: Liberty High School is offering their last volleyball league for this school year. Liberty Juniors is a league that provides skill training, develops fundamentals, while offering a game-like atmosphere. The league will meet at LMS on Sundays from 3:30-5:00pm. The League is six sessions long and starts April 10th. The cost for the league is $70 and includes a team t-shirt. Deadline for Registration is April 4th! You can find the registration form here. After requests from parents and some teachers, PTA now has earbuds that you can purchase for $5.00 for your student. A form went home two weeks ago for you to fill out and send back, but we have extras in the office if you need one. PTA already has them in stock, so you will get your earbuds a day or two after we receive your form. The earbuds are white and in a blue case with a shark logo on the top. The bottom of the case has a pad to clean your computer screen.


Third Graders, Come enjoy a night of science and fun at Liberty High School on Friday, April 7th from 6:30-8:30pm. Features include:

Have your child get outside and use their imagination this summer at Earnest Shepherd Youth Center! Earnest Shepherd will offer day camps for the 2016 summer season. Each camp targets a specific age group and there is a different theme or book. The camps are offered Monday through Friday. Earnest Shepherd is located in Liberty, MO. Registration starts March 28th at 8:00 am. Check us out at www.earnestshepherd.com

Online enrollment for this year's Summer Adventure is now open. Summer Adventure 2016 will take place from June 2nd-28th here at Schumacher. A letter should have gone home with you at Parent-Teacher Conferences that included information about enrollment as well as your student's 9-digit student number that you'll need when enrolling online. If you still need your student's student number, you can call the Schumacher office to request it. Additional information may be found on the summer school website by clicking here.

You must enroll for Summer Adventure by April 5th if you want your child to qualify to ride the bus.

Online enrollment for Kid's Zone's summer programs is now open.

1. Before and after school care during Summer Adventure at Schumacher will be available June 2nd-28th. When enrolling for Summer Adventure, select "Kid's Zone" under the transportation section and it will prompt you to fill out the Kid's Zone enrollment form.

A letter should have gone home with you at Parent-Teacher Conferences that included information about enrollment as well as your student's 9-digit student number that you'll need when enrolling online. Kid's Zone summer enrollment will end April 15th!

2. Camp Gone Wild is Kid's Zone program available from July 6th-29th taking place at Warren Hills Elementary. Enrollment is limited to the first 500 students. If enrolling for Kid's Zone during Summer Adventure AND Camp Gone Wild, you may do so as a part of the Summer Adventure online enrollment process. If signing up for Camp Gone Wild only, you may register on the Kid's Zone website here.

Enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year will begin June 20th.


Do you know a future shark? Help us spread the word that Kindergarten Online Enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year is now open. Students wanting to enroll for Kindergarten must be age 5 on or before July 31st, 2016. If your child currently attends the ECC (Liberty Early Childhood Center) you will not have to enroll for Kindergarten. More details about this should be coming from the ECC.

Here's how to enroll:

STEP 1: Go Online: Go to https://registration.liberty.k12.mo.us/ and complete the online application.

STEP 2: Schedule an Appointment: At the end of the online application you will be directed to schedule an appointment to bring your documents to Schumacher and complete your enrollment.

STEP 3: Bring your Documents to your Appointment: When you come to Schumacher during your appointment bring the following documents:

-Parent/Guardian photo ID

-Child's state-issued birth certificate

-Child's immunization record

-Proof of residency (can be two utility bills- gas, water, or electric OR a lease agreement/house contract). All proofs of residency must in the parent or guardian's name and be dated within the last 60 days.

Looking for something fun for your student to do during Spring Break? Bricks 4 Kidz, who host the Early Engineers Lego Club here at Schumacher, are conducting two different camps this March 21st-24th. Both camps will be held at Lewis and Clark Elementary. Students can choose between "Remote Control Mania" and "Galaxies Far Away". For more information go here.
