history of scabies
Scabies have been infecting people for more than 2,500 years.the earliest cases were found in Egypt. In the 1700's it had many names and was thought to have been caused by humoral disease and possibly associated with a mite. There were also cases of scabies in Australia in 1687, they were observed closely to study the disease.
Symptoms of Scabies
- Severe itching
- Irritated rash
- allergic reaction
What Causes Scabies
Scabies is caused by a infestation of itch mite called Sarcoptes Scabiei
How Scabies Are Spread
Scabies are usually spread from skin to skin but can also be transmitted from clothing or bedding
How scabies Are Diagnosed and Treated
Scabies are diagnosed by the rash and is a doctor trys to remove a mite from the skin with a needle or a skin scraper and then is examined under a microscope to confirm its a mite or egg. If confirmed scabies can be treated by a prescription of either lotion or cream but sometimes doctors prescribe a pill to kill the mites.
How To Prevent Scabies
Scabies can be prevented by avoiding skin to skin contact with someone who has it and by avoiding bedding and clothes from someone who has Scabies
