GERMANY TAKING THE "L"

Besides the fact that Germany lost almost 11% of their entire population in the war, they also had to start all over. Allied planes would drop bombs on cities of Germany killing anyone in their way, thus making their troops defend their homeland. This caused many more deaths than once anticipated. Germany started out without a ton of money due to ww1, and ended ww2 with even less money. Germany had to pretty much start from scratch in rebuilding their country. Germany was split in two - half democracy and half communism. It was not until 1990 when communist power left and Germany reunited to make a democracy again.

JAPAN POST WW2

Japan lost all of it land they acquired after 1894. The ways of Japan were no more as they stripped the emperor of all his power. Japan also lost their army and was forbidden to ever go to war again. Japan's economy however exploded with a 9% increase every year starting in 1955 and ending in 1973. Well knit together industries in the electronic and automobile field is a key part in the economic boom in Japan.
