NPMS Update
October 2022
Notes from Mr. Gregor and Mr. Bell
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It has been a great start to the year. Students are getting back into the school routines. Sometimes it takes longer for some students to get back into these routines. Infinite Campus is a great way for parents and guardians to monitor your student's academic progress on how they are doing on assessments, homework, and assignments. We have included a tip sheet in this newsletter on how to access Infinite Campus. If you have any questions or need assistance with this please contact the middle school main office.
We have also started a new program here at the Middle School where some of our 7th and 8th graders are being mentors to our 6th graders. This new mentor/mentee program is called the NPMS G.L.U.E. Crew and the purpose of the program is to help 6th graders transition to middle school. G.L.U.E. stands for Guiding, Leading, Uniting and Empowering. Three to five student leaders (one in seventh and one in eighth grade) work with each 6th grade advisory (21 advisories) 1-2 times a month throughout the year with various topics relating to middle school and team building activities to help build a positive school climate and culture. The 7th and 8th grade student leaders meet with us during tutorial to plan each activity that they will implement in each 6th grade advisory. The goals of the program are to create a positive school culture, enhance anti-bullying efforts, reduce negative behaviors, provide positive leadership opportunities for students and build positive relationships amongst the student body.
We are looking forward to a great year and appreciate all your support.
Mr. Gregor and Mr. Bell

Recruiting for PROUD
We are recruiting students to be involved in our PROUD organization. PROUD stands for People Respecting Others and Understanding Differences. PROUD Jr. is a group aimed at influencing the climate of the middle school by making sure that every student feels safe and secure in our building. The PROUD committee meets on a monthly basis and discusses how we can make NPMS a better place to be. We will be planning school wide activities that focus on kindness, gratefulness, unity and respect. All 6th-8th graders were given information about our PROUD organization within their teams. If your child is interested, please encourage them to see Mrs. Holgate, Mrs. Peterson or Ms. Hodnefield for more information. We look forward to building this organization each year and watching leadership and positive changes occur in our building.
