Winter at JHCS
Help us prepare for some winter fun!
Winter brings so many fun activities, but we must prepare for the weather.
Please read through this flyer so you are informed about the school's procedures around the winter weather.
Polar Fleece Approved Jacket
Students may wear a navy uniform approved Polar Fleece inside of the classrooms if they are chilly.
Button Down Cardigan
Students may wear a navy uniform approved button down Cardigan swear inside of the classrooms if they are chilly.
Snow Boots
Snow boots are required to go on the grass when there is snow on the ground. Students may bring snow boots in a backpack and change to their boots before recess.
All students go outside for recess 3 times a day if it is over 20 degrees fahrenheit
Bundle up your child
Please send your child prepared to experience cold weather. Send them with gloves/mittens, cold weather coat/jacket, fleece or sweater for the classroom, snow boots for the field, and maybe a hat.
NO Throwing Snow
Students are NOT allowed to throw snow. Please talk to your child about the dangers of throwing snowballs, especially when there are so many children on the playground.
Build a snowman!
Students are allowed to build snowmen, forts, etc. They need boots and gloves to participate in these activities.
Let's try to avoid shorts on cold days
Please recognize we try to keep the building comfortable during the winter, but wearing proper clothing for the weather is critical to your child's comfort.
