Third Grade Battle of the Books
Coming up in May
Let's Get Reading!
Battle of the Books is a trivia game that we play with a certain set of books which changes each year. Students will form teams of 4-5 people, and they will be asked detail questions from the books on the list. The correct answer for each question will be the title of one of those 15 books.
The fourth and fifth graders participate in a separate Battle of the Books with a set of 20 books (some of which overlap with the third grade list). Third graders will get to watch the 4th and 5th graders compete at our school's Battle on Friday, April 13th. Then the third grade competition will be about a month later.
Students who participate in the Battle of the Books will be recognized at Awards Day.
If you are interested in participating, you should begin reading now. The list of books is below, and you will be able to find them in the school library, at the public library, area book stores, and possibly even in your teacher's classroom.
