Important Information for You!
DIBELS, NWEA, & KRA Swat...DONE! Up Next...Data Days!
With the exception of a few make-ups all of the DIBELS, NWEA, & KRA Swat assessments are done! I want to thank each and every one of you for your help in getting this done. A special thank you to Megan C. for all the work she did with NWEA scheduling and training with our KRA proctors and to Cheri who was very flexible as she lost the use of the library for almost two weeks.
I am excited to start looking through the data in preparation for Data Days coming up on September 24th & 26th. Four person PLCs will be scheduled on September 24th and three person PLCs on the 26th. Please watch for an agenda with exact times next week. Megan sent out the data sheet that each teacher needs to be sure to fill in prior to Data Day. The goal of this day will be to review data, discuss Tier I instructions and interventions, and review/write IRIPs.
Constitution Day!
As you know, Constitution Day is Tuesday, September 17th. As a building we will celebrate by wearing Red, White, and Blue. A special flyer will be sent home on Monday! Additionally, please remember to share with Dena Downey and myself the special things you have planned. Hopefully, we can get some great pictures to share with Michelle Edwards.
Watch DOGS Kick-off
Our Watch DOGS Kick-off will be Thursday, September 26th at 4:30 p.m. and again at 6:00 p.m. As many of you know, this is a very special event for our students and their dads...but we can't do it without your help! Wouldn't it be amazing if all of our Thomson Team was there so show support for this program? Plus, you get a free pizza dinner. If you are able to volunteer to help please let me know, it will be greatly appreciated.
Cardinal Code for Athletic Events
The District Behavior Committee created a Cardinal Code Lesson titled: Athletic Events/Stadium/Gymnasium Elementary Level. I do not believe that this lesson is in your binder, so I will be putting a copy in all mailboxes. The expectation is that you will teach this lesson this week and then again during Homecoming week in preparation for the parade and game. Please let me know what questions you have.
5D+ Growth Plans
I have thoroughly enjoyed the Growth Plan meetings that have had so far and I appreciate the flexibility of those I have had to reschedule. I appreciate the thoughtfulness you are putting into the process of professional growth. As I complete Growth Plan meetings, I will begin observations. I have already loved being in your classrooms and I look forward to providing targeted feedback on your areas of focus.
Intersession
Intersession registration is now open and flyers have been sent home. Please take a moment to mention this in your classroom weekly newsletters. If you have a student with a financial restraint that you would like to nominate for a scholarship, please email me with the student and why. This is such a great opportunity for our kids. I hope lots of them are able to attend.
Quotes Worth Reading
“I attribute my success to this-I never gave or took an excuse.”

Do ONE Thing and Make a Big Difference!
Continued this week...do one thing for a colleague...take a moment to build someone up! As I shared last week, one act of kindness at a minimum positively affects three people. It has a positive affect on the person you do it for, for you, and for anyone that witnesses the act. We work in a very challenging, yet gratifying, profession. When we face challenges, we must look for the strengthens we each hold and build up and on that. When you see someone or hear of someone doing something positive or working hard on something, how can you acknowledge that act?
