Castle Rock Communiqué

We Love Our Knights!

February 5, 2021 (Week twenty-four)

Happy Friday and Super Bowl weekend, Castle Rock Families!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first week as Castle Rock’s Principal. I feel so fortunate for this opportunity to be at such an amazing school. The warm welcoming from the school staff, Community Club, School Board Members, and WVUSD’s District Office personal has been incredible. Thank you!

My first week has been busy getting to know the Castle Rock staff and learning all about the culture, history, and procedures of Castle Rock from the fantastic Interim Principal, Jackie Brown. I will forever be grateful for her assistance with this transition!

This week I’ve also had the opportunity to briefly see a few classrooms on Zoom, and plan to get to most, if not all classrooms next week. It is impressive to see how well students and teachers have adapted to their learning environment. Students were so comfortable on camera, participating, and being respectful to each other. It is great to see so many positives in this unique school setting.

I'm looking forward to my first school YEARBOOK as Principal of Castle Rock. With our unique year of distance learning and lack of on-site school events, the Community Club and I need YOUR help! Friday, March 5th will be an official School Spirit Day.

I have 2 requests of all Castle Rock families for that day:

1. That your child wear school spirit gear, which you can order below, or our school colors, blue & yellow.

2. That you submit a picture of your child showing off their school spirit to crkphotograph@gmail.com for the yearbook.

Can't wait to see their pictures in the finished product!

A little bit about Mr. Eldridge:

I am originally from Michigan, which explains my U of M fandom. I had just completed second grade when my parents, sister, and I moved, leaving our extended family behind, for the warmer, dryer climate of Tucson, Arizona to help with my mom's severe asthma.

I graduated from Arizona State University, one month later, moved to Newport Beach and started teaching, and have been in Southern California since!

My wife, Beth, is from New Jersey. So, with family in Michigan, Arizona, and New Jersey, we typically spend our breaks from work traveling around the country to visit them, at least we did pre-COVID!

My wife is a fourth-grade teacher in Corona. We have two children; my son, Max, is a seventh grader and my daughter, Keira, is in fourth grade.

My family shares my excitement for this special opportunity to serve as Castle Rock’s Principal.

We're here for you:

Please continue to keep in touch with your child's teacher or me (jeldridge@wvusd.org) with any questions you may have.

Thank you,

Jason Eldridge
