November News
What's happening at HGECC?
Welcome to HGECC!
Dear HGECC families,
Can you believe it's November already? The leaves have finally started to fall off of the trees, and the beautiful colors are starting to show. Our students have been busy looking at and exploring leaves, pine cones, and pumpkins. So much to learn and talk about!
Thank you to all of you who came out or Trunk or Treat! We had about 200 people attend the event! It was so much fun to see the costumes, chat with parents, and give out lots and lots of candy! We hope you enjoyed the evening too!
Another huge thank you for coming out to Parent/Teacher conferences! Our staff was so excited to tell you all about what your child has been doing at school. We hope you were able to ask questions, see some of their fantastic work, and make a connection with their teacher.
As the weather has gotten much cooler, please be sure to send your child in warm clothes. We try to get outside daily-even if it's just for 10 minutes to take a walk. Fresh air and sunshine is so important to our little people. Send them in a coat, hat, and gloves to keep them warm. It would also be helpful if you could label your child's items with their initials if possible. That way we can do our best to help your child identify his/her items and get them back home to you.
Remember-if you ever have any questions or ideas you would like to share with me, please give me a call!
Yours truly!
~Stephanie Bradley

Early Head Start
Title I - PreK
We are continuing investigations about seasons and trees. Specifically, we will be answering the following questions: What are the parts of a tree? How do trees grow and change? What kind of things live in trees?
During our Tree unit, we will also be working on our counting skills and number identification, Color identification, and continue our work with rhyming and letters
Early Childhood Special Education
We are having fun learning about signs and how they help us in our school and community. Over
the next two weeks we will continue to talk about features of signs and where they can be found.
We will begin to create a map of Grandview with signs we see around town. If you and your
child notice any signs while out in the community snap a picture and email them or send them
through Seesaw so we can add them to our map.

Connection
All learning begins with connection!
Connections on the outside (with other people) actually create and strengthen neural connections within the brain. Eye contact, presence, touch and a playful setting are the four core components required to truly connect with others.
Meet: Ms. Julie
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Julie Ingold and I am so happy to join the High Grove Early Childhood staff.
I was born and raised in Kansas but moved to Missouri in 1991. I have two grown children of my own.I got my start in education as a Special Education Paraprofessional. I soon received my Bachelor’s of Arts in Education (birth through 6th grade) with an endorsement in reading from Graceland University in Independence, MO.
I previously taught 4th grade and 2nd grade before working in early education for the last 10 years. My hope is to inspire every child by using hands-on activities, engaging play and lots of stories so they will become lifelong learners.
