Brrr it's COLD outside!
We had a great time with the story Bear in a Square. Thank you to everyone who participated in the Bear in a Square activity. The children enjoyed seeing where their peers found different shapes with Ms. Becky and Ms. Ronny Bears.
During the next couple weeks we will continue to journey through winter we have some great activities planned. We will address a variety of developmental skills as we discuss snowmen and dressing for the winter. We will also make observations and comparisons about the season winter as it compares to other seasons like summer.

Ms. Stephie's Speech Spot
Hello EC Speech families! The next two weeks will find us talking and learning about all things Winter. Activities will include but not be limited to snowmen, snowballs, winter clothes, and winter activities. Concepts and ideas will incorporate descriptive and action vocabulary words as well as quantity and size i.e., hot/cold, short/tall, slow/fast, throw, build, roll, small, medium, large, etc. We will work on social language skills during both small and large group activities allowing us to practice turn taking, waiting, and maintaining interaction with peers. We continue building our vocabulary, asking and answering questions, expanding our verbal skills into phrases and sentences, and enhancing our social skills through play based learning. Fun activities will include building a snowman together and a friendly game of "Mitten Match." Please refer to the weekly sheet in the daily folders for specific activities and possible home ideas for carryover and generalization. Have fun with your kids and spend time with them. Any activity can be a speech and language activity. Stay warm!
