WMS Weekly Warrior
Week of 3-11
Principal's Post
Good Afternoon WMS Community,
As I sit writing this week’s post, I reflect on how quickly the year is passing. Each week seems to bring something new and interesting. This week’s power outage was our latest event. Our resilient teachers and students have shown their ability to respond to these events and adjust on the fly. Schedules and plans all had to be modified, including our eighth grade high school registration. High school counselors will return on Monday and eighth grade students who missed their registration dates due to the power outage will complete their Nonnewaug registration. Thank you to everyone for responding so quickly to the emergency closing and being flexible with your schedules.
With the many cancellations that occurred during the 2nd trimester, we are moving the date of the end of the trimester from 3-15 to 3-22. This schedule change will allow our Unified Arts teachers time to make up for the many missed classes.
Below I have left two announcements from last week. Please mark your calendars for the two important events listed.
Parents in the Middle (PIM) is sponsoring a Pasta Dinner fundraiser. Please see the letter and order form in the flyers below.
Officer Rich Marsh, from the Woodbury Police Department, will present an informative parent workshop called The Secret of the APPS. This workshop provides parents the information necessary to understand the APPS our students are using. The workshop will be conveniently scheduled on the same night as our March Madness Night (7-9).
Parent can drop students off at WMS and walk down the hallway to our Central Office Conference room for the presentation. Please click the link for reservations, as this event will surely fill quickly. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-secrets-of-the-apps-tickets-57931199778
