Donate to our COVID RECOVERY Efforts!
After the excitement of our first couple of months back in school, students, staff, and families have begun to settle into our new routines and rebuild the in-person relationships that we missed so much. We are well into the 2021-22 school year and we have been able to get back into most of our usual EHS school life, while keeping our school communities healthy with minimal disruptions. The classroom is a better place when your child is in-person and at school. The past two years have been...well, let's say- challenging-- for learning. As our students heal from the pandemic, we want to make sure they are better prepared for the next step in life, whether it’s college or career.
Help us get back to how EHS works best by donating to our COVID RECOVERY EFFORT. Donations will go toward our loss of learning efforts including the costs that go into earning graduation credits: student and teacher supplies, extra help in subject areas, local tutoring costs, paid stipends for adults to tutor, and extra counseling needs.
Please visit https://give.mn/4byqqf to support Eagan High School.
Thank you for all your support during the past two years! GO WILDCATS!
COVID-19 Vaccinations & Testing Information
ON-SITE COVID-19 TESTING INFORMATION
District 196 has partnered with Dakota Child and Family Clinic to offer a drive-up testing site for students and district employees. This site is being provided for all students and employees who are sick or symptomatic. This site is not intended for periodic screening or close-contact testing; the state’s Community Testing Sites should be used in these situations. All students under age 18 will be required to have a parent or guardian present at the time of testing, or the parent may call the phone number on the sign when the student arrives at the testing site to provide verbal permission.
The testing site will open Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the District Service Center, 14301 Diamond Path West, in Apple Valley, and will be open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until further notice. Staff from Dakota Child and Family Clinic will administer the tests.
District 196 students and employees who are symptomatic should contact their school nurse to set up an appointment to get tested. Testing will include a rapid test first, then additional PCR test if the rapid test is negative. If other family members are interested in getting tested, they will be directed to schedule an appointment at a community testing site—this opportunity is prioritized for employees and current students of District 196.
Testing continues to be available to Minnesotans at no charge. You can go to a clinic or hospital, orvisit a no-barrier community testing site run by the State of Minnesota. Find more information about testing and to find the nearest testing location, visit the Find Testing Locations page on the state’s website.
VACCINATIONS FOR CHILDREN AGES 5-11
The Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized the emergency use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11 and appointments are now available through the Minnesota Department of Health. COVID-19 Vaccine for Children and Teens
Only the Pfizer vaccine has been authorized to vaccinate children ages 5-17 and will only be administered to those ages. The vaccine for ages 5-11 is administered as a two-dose primary series, three weeks apart, and is a lower dose than that used for children 12 and older.
CONSENT REQUIRED: Children under age 18 must have consent signed on their behalf by a parent or guardian when scheduling an online appointment. It is very important that the scheduling forms are filled out correctly in advance and a parent or legal guardian must go to the vaccine appointment with their child to provide consent for the child to receive the vaccine. Additional information on Parental Consent can be found here.
VACCINATION CLINICS IN DISTRICT 196 - PENDING
Currently, there are no on-site vaccination clinics scheduled for students ages 5-11 in our school district. We are partnering with the Minnesota Department of Health, Dakota County and Homeland Health to be able to offer on-site clinics at some sites as soon as we are authorized to do so. As with all immunizations, a parent or guardian must provide consent for a vaccine to be administered to a child younger than 18, no matter where it is administered. If the district provides on-site vaccination clinics in the future for students ages 5-11, a parent or guardian must be present.

National Letters of Intent for Senior Athletes
A National Letter of Intent is a binding commitment by an athlete to play collegiate athletics for a particular college or university in exchange for a scholarship. (This means your son or daughter is signing a commitment to a Division I or Division II school to play a sport and receiving athletic financial aid. This would also mean the college or university has been in contact with you and your son or daughter about the signing the paperwork. )
November 10, 2021 is the first of three signing time periods for prospective senior student-athletes, who have played at Eagan, to sign their National Letters of Intent. There is also one in February and another date in April.
Signing will take place at EHS about 9:10 am - more details to follow with signees.
If you have a senior (12th Grade) son or daughter who will be signing to play college athletics during this time period please contact Eagan’s Athletic Director, Sandra Setter Larsen at sandra.setter@district196.org
