From the Principal's Desk

Congratulations to Sophia Abbott who was chosen as a Carson Scholar. Carson Scholars are selected based on a student’s academic performance and commitment to service. The selection process is extremely competitive and we are proud Sophia rose to the top and that Chatham Grove has had a winner two years in a row. Way to go Gators!

I also want to give a shout out to Olivia and Reese Terry and Pax Henry for their being selected to perform at the Music Showcase held at Jordan Matthews’ High School. We are all proud of you all!

As a reminder, there is no school for students this Tuesday, March 8th, as we will be having a required staff development day. Please plan accordingly.

1000 Minute Reading Challenge

There is still time for YOU to Join the 1000 Minute Reading Challenge. Read all about it here and while you are there, take a peek at our CGE Leader Board. You can add items you are currently reading AND you can add items that you have already read from your classroom reading/book log!

From the PE Coaches

What a great last few weeks with our Gators in PE classes!

Everyone was working hard on their grit and perseverance while working on endurance and stamina during our Jump Rope Ninjas unit. We hope that you’ve seen your child showing you some cool jumping tricks or trying to complete 1-3 min of continuous jumps at home. The effort and dedication to master these skills were seen and felt in all of the classes, Kindergarteners including!

We would like to give huge shout outs to several of

our 4th and 5th grade students who were able to jump

for a whooping 4 and 5 minutes!

Each week, we will be highlighting some of our K-5 students for receiving a shout-out from someone in the school community. We are so proud of these students for exemplifying CHOMPS expectations throughout the school! Below are the shout-outs for the week of January 24th. Great job, gators!

From PTA

Your time is valuable and gifting it makes a world of difference to the Chatham Grove community. Volunteering at the Thrift Shop is currently the PTA’s largest fundraiser for CGE. This is an opportunity for EVERYONE to get involved (students aged 10+, parents, grandparents, neighbors, friends!) to generate funds to distribute school wide on a yearly basis in the form of classroom allowances, teacher grants, and student/teacher/staff support and appreciation.
