A Message from Our Principal
Hello Mashburn Family,
I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed some time for you and with your family. Hopefully, this week is off to a great beginning. I will be going to the school this Wednesday, 10-12 if anyone needs anything or a parent needs to pick up something- I’ll send a messenger tonight to parents. If anyone does come by the school, we follow CDC procedures, please enter the main entrance, we will have a thermometer to take your temperature, gloves, and masks to wear while you are in the building. We will have gloves and mask available for you if you need to come to school.
Enjoy the beautiful weather this afternoon. Thanks for everything you are doing to make sure all students receive what they need. See below the great parent letter slide which is so TRUE of what ALL teachers do and will do for every student. Please let me know if you need anything or have any questions.
Have a Wonderful Week.
Thanks,
Carla

Translating in Google Meet
Did you know that there is a translating feature in Google Meet? Here are directions on how to use this tool:
Dreambox Friday Forum
Here are some tips that Dr. Lack suggested for encouraging Dreambox usage with your students.
Check the Dreambox Dashboard WEEKLY to monitor usage. Admin receives a weekly report from Dr. Lack with the number of teachers viewing dashboards.
For students who have already met/exceeded annual goals, ease up on the requirement to use Dreambox.
For other students, consider designating a "Dreambox Day" (K-2) each week; if students in grades 3-5 can't complete seven weekly lessons in 30 minutes, plan shorter math lessons on other days and encourage students to use the remaining time for Dreambox each day. Make Friday a catch-up day to finish the remaining lessons. Grades 3-5 should be nearly done with all standards since EOGs would have been administered in late April.
Encourage (not require) students who are "behind pace" to complete lessons in additional free time and provide recognition for them.
Use AssignFocus to help teach targeted standards.
For other Dreambox information and tips, please view Dr. Lack's presentation from last Friday's Forum:

Brainpop & Brainpop Jr. Games
For each of BrainPOP’s 850+ standards-aligned topics, you can assign relevant learning games to keep kids engaged and on-track without excessive prep.
To search for a game, open Brainpop or Brainpop Jr. and search the word "games" in the box. This might be a fun way to end a lesson or give an incentive once finished with an activity! :)

- Open-ended questions now offer students the option to submit audio responses if this feature is enabled by the teacher when the question is created. Learn more HERE.
- Teachers can now embed a Flipgrid topic directly into a Nearpod lesson. Learn more HERE.
- Teachers now have the ability to remove posts from student-paced collaborate boards, by moderating the board in their reports. Learn more HERE.
