HOME ACCESS CENTER (HAC)
We started the 2nd quarter of our school year on Tuesday of this week. Wow, where does the time go? As we continue through the second quarter, I would like to take this time to remind our parent community to continue to monitor your student’s academic progress on the Home Access Center. If you have any questions about school work, please contact your student’s teachers.
We are looking forward to a great second quarter! If you have any questions on how to access HAC, please call the main office at 331-228-3100.
ACTIVITIES ABOUND AT THOMPSON
As is every week in a middle school, this one has been exceptionally busy. Fall sports have finished and our winter sports are beginning. Teams continue to engage in team builder activities and school clubs are in high gear. One great thing about middle school is the fact that there are so many different ways for students to get involved and shine! Please encourage your middle schooler to get involved with school activities away from the classroom to truly take advantage of all that middle school has to offer! Click here to see our long list of clubs/activities.
Enjoy your weekend!

Veterans Day Celebration
This year we will be celebrating Veterans Day on November 11th! Veterans Day is a day set aside to honor American veterans of all wars. Many of us know or have known men and women in our families or friends who have served in the armed forces to defend our country. This year we would like to take time to honor these individuals by acknowledging their time served and to honor them at an assembly beginning at 9:00 am on that day.
If your child has someone in your family, or a friend of your family, who they would like to invite to attend our assembly and introduce to the Thompson community, please fill out the google form below by October 25th. Students in our Builder's Club will be writing invitations to these individuals to invite them to this assembly.
Socktober
Every night in the United States, an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets. This month, the Student Council at Thompson Middle School wants to prove that even a small act of love, such as donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless.
How can you help us in our efforts? Simple! Send new socks, or any new, warm weather wear (scarves, hats, mittens, gloves, etc.) to school with your student. Donated items can be placed in the boxes in the team leaders’ rooms. We will begin collecting donations on October 21 and will accept items through November 8.
PTO Thunder Spiritwear
The PTO webstore to purchase Thunder spiritwear is now open until November 19th! Please click here to view the options provided by The Hairy Ant. Please choose ‘gift’ at checkout to have your items delivered to school and kept in the main office without your child seeing the spiritwear. Items will be delivered to Thompson on December 10th.

The classroom learning environment should not be compromised due to a student’s costume.

Digital Citizenship
October 30, 2019
Digital Citizenship
Thompson Middle School Cafeteria
6:30-8:00 p.m.
Join us for an evening with national digital citizenship speaker Josh Ochs, who will also be spending time at both middle and high schools. Josh talks to students about their future and how their digital footprint can have an impact. Josh shows parents how they can protect their children on 40+ popular apps. He’ll walk parents through the dangers of each app, where teens might be hiding their activity from parents, and how parents can keep their children safe.
Josh has Parent University resources that will be available to all District 303 families for the entire school year. Watch videos, learn about the latest apps, and find out how to keep your children safe at your convenience.
