"Stress is not what happens to us, it is our response to what happens, and response is something we can choose."-- Maureen Killoran
Our Path Note Topic
1. Accept Imperfection--Good can be good enough. There's an old saying: "Shoot for Perfection and Settle for Excellence." That is great, but during stressful times as the holidays, it is okay for things to be good sometimes.
2. Don't Lose Sight of What Really Counts--a couple of questions come to mind:
- Where does it fit in the grand scheme of things? If standing in a long line in a store, why get frustrated? Maybe reflect about things? Can I find a way to use the time to make it more pleasant?
3. Respond with Kindness--in challenging times, take a few breaths, everyone is feeling the stress, and difficult people have a different perspective and may be suffering or struggling.
4. Rethink Your Resolutions--
- Start small with the resolutions. Make them achievable.
- Don't be so critical of yourself. Stop the negativity.

Piece of the Puzzle
This Week's Piece of the Puzzle is Stacy Henderson. A parent recently sent the high school an email expressing her appreciation for Mrs. Henderson. She said that Stacy offered a test review session for all of her Honors Civics classes. This review was held on a Friday in November and Mrs. Henderson even provided snacks. The parent was so appreciative that Mrs. Henderson was willing to go above and beyond to help her students be successful on their upcoming test, especially on that Friday.
Congratulate Stacy Henderson for being this week's Piece of the Puzzle!
