Regular Meeting | watch

President Bruno announced that Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Dr. David Bruno would sit in for Superintendent Dr. Melissa Kaczkowski. Dr. Kaczkowski was absent due to her husband having quadruple bypass surgery. President Bruno wished Melissa’s husband well in his recovery.


Recognition

District 41 PTA Community Outreach | watch

Chief Communications Officer Erika Krehbiel introduced PTA Holiday Sharing Program representatives Erica Nelson and Jennifer Huard to present history about the program and share how they were able to help families this year. They also thanked community partners who helped make this program a success such as Operation Christmas, Glen Ellyn Junior Women’s Club and the Glen Ellyn Bookstore. Board members thanked Erica and Jennifer for their leadership and celebrated the community for providing this holiday support for our families.


Steve Diveley, Jr High School Principal of the Year | watch

Representatives from the Illinois Principals Association presented Hadley Junior High School Principal Steve Diveley with the Middle School Principal of the Year award for the DuPage Region. Board members shared congratulations and stories about their own positive experiences with Hadley and his leadership.


Hadley’s Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) District 9 Junior Band Festival | watch

Hadley Band Directors Samantha Tribley and Chris Cooper presented the four students who were selected to perform in the Illinois Music Education Association District 9 Junior Band Festival. The four students performed for the Board and the community. The Board and Principal Diveley thanked the directors and congratulated the students.



Student Attributes: Hadley Jr. High School | watch

Principal Diveley presented one of the Student Profile Attributes “Curious.” He shared how this student attribute relates to Hadley and Hadley students. He introduced teachers Dina Sbarra and Gina Kunkel who shared how they engaged students to learn about what curiosity means to them. They presented a video featuring students showcasing how they use their curiosity at school and in life. CLICK HERE to watch the video.

Superintendent’s Report | watch

Dr. David Bruno followed up with information about next steps for community engagement planning. Ms. Krehbiel thanked the Community Advisory Subcommittee members for agreeing to join a working group to create a plan for community engagement. A report will be presented to the Board late February or early March 2023.
