Reminders from Your Teacher
PLEASE help your child keep up with jackets, hats, gloves, etc… by putting their name inside! If misplaced, they can check the Lost and Found across from the music room.
Language Arts
In Writer's Workshop, we are finishing our Personal Narrative unit. Students focused on writing a story about themselves with a beginning middle, and ending. Students attempted to use transition words (first, next, last) and use lots of letters to sound out words that they do not know. You may notice that you can read some of your child's writing as they begin to use conventions such as: spaces between word and sight words!
Math
We are working on comparing numbers and sets of objects using comparative language. More, less, equal... See the link below for a read aloud book!
We are practicing making sets and numbers to show one more and one less.
Please help your child practice at home. Our new goal is at least 50.
Science and Social Studies
In Science, we will observe and describe the forms of energy, focusing this week on light energy.
In Social Studies, we will discuss and observe voting and Veteran's Day.
