Pleasant Valley Family Newsletter
Week of May 25, 2020
Our mission is to empower and inspire a community of lifelong learners and leaders.
Dear Pleasant Valley Families,
This most unusual school year is now coming to an end. Since we will not be posting any new Distant Learning Plans, we hope that our learners will use this upcoming shorter week to complete and turn in any missing distance learning assignments. All assignments are due on Monday, June 1st. Please know this is not how any of us wanted to teach or end the school year. I believe the Pleasant Valley teachers did a great job with the transition with such short notice and without formal training with 100% digital/remote learning. We truly appreciate all families for their understanding, meeting this unprecedented challenging time, and all the sacrifices you have had to make to support your child's education, please reach out to your child's teacher to thank them- they really are heartbroken. Again, this is not how any of them wanted to teach or end the year. Please tell them they are missed by all of the Pleasant Valley Staff and we believe in our wonderful STARS!
Please check your child's progress and performance using our district's Home Access Center (HAC). This app allows parents and guardians to obtain their child's ongoing progress and performance for the quarter right as well as report card grades from their mobile phone. Most families use this but again we are resharing this for those who have not been checking their child's progress.
We hope that you join us on Friday, May 29th at 1:00 pm for our PV Stars End of the Year Car Parade on 5.29.2020 so we can celebrate our STARS and Debbie Youngman, one of our Kindergarten STEM teachers, who is retiring at the end of this school year.
All District issued Chromebooks and Charger will need to be returned. Where and when are listed below:
- 6/1, 6/2, 6/3
- Collection of devices at DIS 8 am-2:30 pm each day
- Back of Parma High – 6285 W54th Street DOOR #50 there is a sign in the grass outside so it's hard to miss!
