First Semester in Review

Happy New Year! We can hardly believe that the first semester is over! We have had a fantastic time working with students in classroom guidance classes every other week. In the first semester of classroom guidance we discussed topics ranging from: the role of the school counselor, respect, responsibility, identifying and reporting bullying, the success skills of listening and paying attention, respecting personal space, Kelso’s Choices for Conflict Management, decision-making, understanding consequences, personal safety, perseverance, goal-setting, caring for ourselves, others, and the community, self-esteem, and healthy friendships.

We wrapped up our first round of small groups and lunch bunches on topics such as study skills, friendship skills, and social skills, and will be starting new groups this quarter.

We look forward to the rest of this school year! Please contact us if we can be of service to you and your child.
