2. NEW COVID-19 Quarantine Guidance . . . .For those of you who closely follow the guidance that we receive from the health organizations (Centers for Disease Control, State Department of Health and the Hancock County Health Department), we did receive updated guidance a week ago. This guidance makes allowances for schools to bring students and staff back from exclusions quicker than the conventional time frames. This includes individuals who have tested positive and individuals who have been identified as close contacts. You may reference these changes on our website. We began to implement these options with our staff this week, and we will roll out the changes with our student population starting January 18th. See the attached document found in the download section below for more specific details.
3. NWEA assessments for Grade 7 started on January 20th.
- ELA will test Jan. 20-21
- Science will test Jan. 24-25
- Math will test Jan. 26-27

4. Mark your calendars for FEBRUARY 14TH = eLearning Day. Students will not be at school that day but they will have assignments to complete virtually. Main St.) will serve as backup sites, as will the Hancock Hope House. The Warming Center is for all individuals and families who may be without safe adequate heat. The Center will be open from 7pm to 8am on nights when the temperature is below 30 degrees or the wind child is below 20 degrees, with flexibility for things like precipitation.
Individuals wishing to volunteer at the warming center are asked to call Jim Peters @ 317-372-2304.

Washington D.C. Trip
By:Gustavo Contreras
Some of us might already know or not but there is a trip to Washington DC planned. Unfortunately the trip is a 8th grade only thing meaning that no 7th grade is going to be able to go. About 140 students are going to the trip and about 240 are staying. For those that are going to be staying we are not taking a break. Bummer right! We are still going to be learning, but the teachers have planned to not introduce anything new. Talking about teachers 9 of the teachers are also going, so be ready to see subs in your classes. We will still be following the same routine and lunch period. Mr.Sincroft also said there might be a possibility that we choose our seats that day, but nothing is set in stone.

THREE LUNCHES AND A MEME . . . .
BY ANNA STUDER
WELCOME TO SCHOOL LUNCH REVIEWS! MY NAME IS ANNA STUDER, AND I AM A FOOD CRITIC. I HAVE BEEN TAKING PHOTOS OF MY LUNCH SINCE THE THIRD MONDAY OF SCHOOL. I don’t want to make the lunch ladies look bad, because they have to make lunch for 600 students a day, and the government won't let them make things that they could last year, so imagine how difficult it must be. THEY WORK SO HARD, AND I JUST WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT. I HOPE YOU ENJOY!
I HAVE DISCONTINUED THE RESTAURANT REVIEW BECAUSE MY FAMILY DOES NOT EAT OUT ENOUGH FOR ME TO CONTINUE THIS. THE REASON WE DON’T GET MUCH FAST FOOD IS THAT MY MOM IS AN AMAZING COOK, AND I WOULD RATHER EAT HER FOOD THAN GREASY TAKEOUT. I HOPE YOU ENJOY!
Tuesday, January 18th, 2022Today, yet another pepperoni pizza slice with only one slice of pepperoni on it. Still good though. The canned peaches were everything anyone would expect of canned peaches. I give this lunch 3 ½ stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ | Wednesday, January 19th, 2022The cookies. Don’t even get me started on the cookies. They tasted good and all, but they were severely undercooked. The chicken was alright, had a strong smell, but not much flavor. The rice was flavorless and tasted like water. The mandarin oranges(or candarins as we call them here) were everything you would expect from candarins. I give this lunch 3½ out of 5 stars.⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ | Friday, January 21st, 2022The burger was good, but we have a new addition! Let’s give a warm welcome to the albino Spongebob cheese! I made sure to put the ketchup on the other bun so y’all could see it. I got pickles and red onions on mine. I give this lunch 4 out of 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ |

Meme of the week: Lunch?

What all students and teachers are thinking throughout the end of third/fourth period is usually “lunch? Lunch? When’s lunch? How long before lunch? I’m hungry, when’s lunch?” I hope you thought my reviews were somewhat accurate! Thanks for checking out the lunch ratings by me, Anna Studer, Food Reviewer. See you next week!
