“Live with HeART” - Jacob Komlov’s artwork will soon be proudly featured on a billboard somewhere in our county! Fairway Advertising is donating billboards to highlight youth art, and Jacob’s artwork was selected as one of 13 pieces to be included! The proposed theme is “Live with HeART” and promotes the importance of art in the schools. Jacob is a 5K student. Congratulations to Jacob and OES art teacher, Mrs. Harvey!

Rain Barrel Workshops – Saturday, May 14th from 10:00 to 12 noon at Lake Bowen Park on Hwy 9: Upstate Forever is partnering with Spartanburg Water and Spartanburg County to help homeowners install rain barrels and rain gardens to help protect water quality at Lake Bowen. Green infrastructure such as rain barrels and rain gardens have been repeatedly demonstrated to significantly help improve water quality and reduce stormwater runoff into lakes, improving water efficiency at the home, and saving money. The workshops are free to the public. Space is limited. For more information or to register, contact Chris Starker at cstarker@upstateforever.org or 864-250-0500, Ext. 15.

Celebrate Your Reading All-Star – On Sunday, May 22nd, the Greenville Drive will celebrate the Reading All-Stars from our school. Qualifying students earned a FREE ticket voucher to the May 22nd game, where they will receive a FREE Reading All-Star T-shirt, select a complimentary book form the PEP Book Fair and participate in a pregame Parade of Champions around Fluor Field. To redeem your child’s voucher and purchase tickets for family and friends visit the Drive Box Office or call 864-240-4528. For more information about this game please click here.

Rock Wall Update (from the PTA) – Due to the unforeseen expense of the EvacPac Emergency Kits and the installation fees of the Rock Wall, we are unable to install the Rock Wall before the end of the current school year. We will continue to pursue this project and will work to have the rock wall in place next year. We apologize and appreciate your understanding.
