The Patriot Pride
#RiseUp!
Good Morning Patriots!
I want to thank Jen Moore and Damon Mazoff and our entire office staff and our custodial team for spending the last 2+ months preparing for our teachers and students to return. I also want to welcome and thank Lucretia Stephens, who joins us from Lake Ridge, to our administrative team! She has also been hard at work in supporting our beginning of the year planning! With recent developments from the Board meeting, I wanted to provide some updates on Liberty Bell's re-entry plan. Our district is in close contact with our health department and is working tirelessly to make the best decisions for our district. While we are striving for consistency, please understand that with COVID numbers changing day to day, we need to remain flexible and open minded. We will do the best we can to keep you informed day to day.
Report to work
- All certified staff will follow the district calendar for the week of July 27th: http://www.jcschools.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=72&Itemid=436
- Our first faculty meeting will be July 31st at 8am (location TBD-more information to be sent soon.)
- We will social distance and follow district protocols for masks (current copy found in your school mailbox)
- We will review our re-entry plan and we will rotate through stations to ensure that everyone is up to date with needed information for the year. Please know that I strive to have faculty meetings that are focused on professional growth and learning. The first faculty meeting of the year is the exception. It is just simply a time where information needs to be given and we need to provide clarity for our work. We will set this day up in rotations in an effort to keep you moving, keep things fast paced and to ensure that we are appropriately socially distancing.
- The week of August 3rd will be used to plan for scheduling students, reviewing and revising re-entry plans, and preparing for remote teaching. All teachers are expected to work on site this week.
- All classified staff will report to work on August 4th.
- The first in-person student day has been moved to August 10th

REMOTE LEARNING
- Parents will complete an application for remote learning.
- We will work to select teacher teams to serve remote learners. It appears at this time that we have enough remote learners to assign one remote learning team to 7th grade and one remote learning team to 8th grade.
- As of now, we have around 180 students signed up for remote learning. We may be assigning more teams to remote teaching, OR, we may be receiving teachers outside of LBMS to teach these classes. This is still an unknown.
- If we do not return to in-person learning, all teachers will become remote teachers and you will serve the students on your roster. Assigned remote teachers will teach the students assigned as remote learners to them.
- Canvas will be the LMS we use to create a robust distance learning program.
**Please note that the classes that are currently listed in Canvas and PS are subject to change due to schedule changes necessary to remote learning students. Please do not communicate with parents or students of those currently listed in classes, since these may not yet be set in stone.
