Message to Parents from Dr. Jeanette Ball
Dear Judson ISD Families,
Please take a moment to read the letter below.
Spring Break Covid-19 Screening
The screenings will take place Sunday, March 14, from 1– 3 p.m., at the Educational Resource Center (ERC) 8205 Palisades Dr. Live Oak, TX 78233.
Students and staff are encouraged to notify your school nurse of your intent to test. Walkups will be accepted. This COVID-19 screening is free and does not require proof of insurance.
In partnership with Community Labs, Judson ISD is offering these district-wide screenings to capture any asymptomatic carriers of the COVID-19 virus after spring break. The nonprofit Community Labs currently tests at 30 Judson ISD campuses weekly using a highly sensitive PCR test and returns results within 24 hours, allowing administrators to notify any COVID-19- positive students and staff quickly so they can quarantine. This assurance testing strategy creates a COVID-19 Safety Zone and a pathway for schools to reopen, people to return to work, and communities to recover.

Spring Break Meal Distribution
Spring break is right around the corner, and the Judson ISD Child Nutrition Department is making plans for meals to support our students during this time. During spring break (March 8th-March 12th), JISD will provide no-cost lunch meals for students on Monday, March 8th, and Wednesday, March 10th.
The Monday lunch distribution will include a hot meal meant to be eaten that day with another cold lunch for the following day. Wednesday’s lunch distribution will include three lunches…one will be hot for consumption that day, with two cold lunches for the following two days. The distribution sites will be Escondido Elementary, Franz Elementary, and Rolling Meadows Elementary Schools, starting at 10:30 am and ending at 11:30 am on Monday the 8th and Wednesday the 10th.
Students or parents of students picking up the meals must bring some form of JISD enrollment identification to receive a meal, such as:
- Student ID card per child
- Report card per child
- Attendance record from parent portal on the website
- An official letter from campus verifying child is enrolled.
If you have questions, you can call the Child Nutrition Department at 210-945-6720.

In our School of Choice website's menu, you will see a list of campuses grouped by elementary, middle, and high schools. Each campus listed will have a link to their campus website, a brochure explaining some of the unique features and offerings of that school, and a virtual video tour of the campus to give you a visual sense of the school. Again, thank you for choosing Judson ISD. If you have questions about a school or program, please feel free to contact the campus of interest, and they will be able to help you.

People's Choice voting is happening now!
The People’s Choice Award is decided by the number of complete views for each submission this week. Every time a video is played (all the way to completion), it adds one to the “views count” on the commercial server where the contest videos are located.
Please vote for Miller’s Point. They tally the view count from March 1-5 (ending Friday at midnight) for each entry and will announce the People’s Choice winner that received the most complete views. (Note: The video server algorithm recognizes multiple views from the same IP address and will not count them if they occur within too short a time frame.)
Find Miller's Point video in the video gallery and share out the link to your school communities!
Thanks again for your participation!
