To Teach English in China
Prayer Requests
Hello again, everyone!
Thank you for all of your thoughtful e-mails and encouragement! As I face so many changes and adjustments in the coming months, it is nice to know that I have so many people holding me up before the Father.
Allow me to make some amendments to details I neglected in my previous e-mail update. Several of you have asked me where I will be teaching. In the midst of all the chaos, I somehow forgot to include that important detail. (Absent-minded, brain-crowded me!) The school in which I will teach lies in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province close to the Tibet border. As some of you may remember, my family lived in Chengdu in 2005-2006. Though I did not request this placement, out of all the cities in China, this is where God and LDi decided to place me! I'm still blown away by the fact.
Within the past few days, several urgent prayer requests came to light--requests that I ask you to pray with me for.
- Unexpected financial expenses. This is heavy on my mind right now. In the past, I have witnessed God's miraculous provision for His work, yet my heart continually needs to repeat the course in trust for that provision. Throughout the hiring process, unexpected expenses have arisen. In addition, I now face several upcoming expenses related to my visa and initial housing costs that I had not expected or budgeted for, and my savings are inadequate to cover them. Please pray with me for the miraculous provision of $1,500+ to cover these expenses. (If you would like to aid in this, thank you! Contact me and let me know, and I will send you details about making tax-deductible contributions.)
- My visa application. Pray for favor from the Chinese government and speed in the process.
- Saying goodbye. I want to leave the U.S. with memories of sweet times with loved ones. Please pray that, in the midst of all the busyness of preparing, I not get sidetracked from the more important matters: relationships and sweet goodbyes.
Thank you, again, for your prayers on my behalf! No matter where I go or how God leads me, I know that prayer is an essential part of His work. Thank you for taking part in it!
In Christ's love,
Sarah Leichty
