What to bring!
This year water fountains will be open for use. However, your child is still welcome to bring a water bottle to avoid missed class time.
Each morning, students will be allowed to eat a snack that they have brought from home to help tie them over until lunch. Please make sure that the snack is healthy, as we will not allow things like candy as a a snack. Snacks are not allowed to be shared due to allergies.
Make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather each day for recess. Students may need coats, jackets, or gloves as the weather begins to cool off.
What we are learning
Writing- Students will learn about the 8 parts of speech, beginning with nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs.
Math- Students will be learning about multi-digit multiplication. We will begin by using diagrams and partial products to solve problems. We will take a deeper dive into the standard algorithm to solve multi-digit multiplication problems.
Content-Students will be wrapping up the Resource Wars Unit by creating a board game to teach about their region.
Communcation
We will keep in contact with parents about their child through email or phone. We will not only contact you about "need to work on" items, but also celebrations about your child. We strongly encourage you to talk with your child about how their day was as well as contact us anytime you have concerns or need to know information that you feel will help us help them.
Every week our newsletter will be sent out through email. You will find all the important information as well as what we will be doing in the upcoming week in this newsletter.
