We will also be exploring the concept that a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left.

Unit 2 Math Newsletter

For every unit, we have newsletters with helpful links for home use. Check out the document below for videos and games to practice classroom concepts!

Science

Classes will to continue learn about the unit, "Earth's Systems" by thinking about Frederick County and how they personally impact the environment. Students are introduced to the four major Earth Systems Geo-sphere, Hydrosphere, Atmosphere, and Biosphere)

Writing

Fifth grade students are continuing to write personal narratives. Students are focusing on including dialogue, description, and pacing to develop experiences and events of characters. We will also use sensory details to describe our stories to make the reader feel like they are in the story. Look forward to reading our stories!

The party this year will also be connected to the Walk to End Hunger and food drive. Information about party donations has been sent home in the Wednesday folders.
