Knightly Update January 9, 2022
ACP High School - Edition Vol 1 Issue 23
Hello. We had a very nice first week of the semester. It was great to see our students and to visit classrooms. It looks like everyone appreciated the time to rest and rejuvenate and enjoyed their time off. As we all get back to work, remember to take some time for yourself now and then to stay energized.
Each year we have the honor to select three individuals from our school community to be recognized at the annual District Night of Recognition. This includes selecting an outstanding school volunteer, our AAA faculty or staff award member, and the recipient of the student citizenship award. I am very pleased to announce that this year's recipients are Mr. Mike Wright (volunteer award), Mr. Myron Blueford (marketing instructor/head football coach), and senior Blake Enwiller (Student Citizenship Award). All three help to make ACP a special place and are very deserving of this honor. Each of them will be recognized by CUSD's Governing Board at the District Night of Recognition on February 16th at 6:30. Congratulations!
This week, members of administration and counseling will conduct registration overview presentations will all underclassmen. At these meetings, students will learn about the registration process, review graduation and state college entrance requirements, and receive their registration paperwork. Deadlines for completing this paperwork will be shared and students must bring this document with them to school each day until they have their 1:1 registration meeting. If you have any questions, please contact the office.
Last week, district administration sent information regarding new mitigation procedures. If you have not had an opportunity to review this update, please click here to familiarize yourself with established guidelines. We will continue to do all we can to maintain a safe environment and work with students impacted by the virus. Please contact the office if you have any questions.
Please remind your child to follow established dress attire guidelines before they arrive to school. We have seen a significant increase of students violating dress policies. Students not following guidelines will be assigned administrative consequences. Additionally, the administrative team will be looking for students who consistently wear expected attire and recognizing them for doing what all Knights are expected to do. If you have any questions about dress attire guidelines, please visit our website.
Thank you for your patience with the continuing road construction. Based on conversations, I anticipate the north side of Brooks Farm Rd. being completed by Saturday, and the southern side of Brooks Farm Rd. completed by the end of the month. If the weather cooperates, construction personnel may get the project done sooner. In the meantime, please follow established procedures and safe driving practices and allow for a bit more congestion.
I hope you have a very nice week. If I can be of any assistance, please contact me. Thank you.
Rob Bickes
Principal

Class of 2022 Diplomas - Name Check
The Class of 2022 will graduate on Thursday, May 26th and it's time to get your child's diploma ready to print. Please check Infinite Campus and verify that your child's First Name, Middle Name and Last Name is spelled correctly. If only your child's middle initial shows and you want their full middle name on the diploma, please let us know how it should read. We cannot deviate from your child's birth certificate, nor can we add any name that is not on the birth certificate.
It is very important that we hear from you by January 21, 2022. Please email Mrs. Wilson, wilson.roslyn@cusd80.com, and let her know if everything looks correct or if any corrections need to be made. Thank you.

Senior Yearbook Ads
Senior Yearbook recognition ads are a great way for parents, families and friends to commemorate student achievements and important milestones. In addition, revenues from recognition ads help our school to create a better yearbook. To purchase your ad online, follow the instructions on flyer. Jostens is managing your school's yearbook ad sales, so please do not contact or send materials to the school. All ad orders must be placed online by 01/28/2022. There is a limited amount of space in yearbook for these, so purchase yours today!
You can also access your ad purchase directly through the following link:

Please Make a Tax Credit Donation
If you are able to make your tax contributions early in the year, your donation would be greatly appreciated and give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50.00 per family for a total of $57,500.00 and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
