How much does insurance cost?
NW Technology Insurance- $25 per device per year. If you purchased insurance for the 20-21 school year, you will need to purchase again.
What if I can't afford insurance?
If this amount is a hardship on your family, please fill out the NW Technology Waiver Fee Application. The application process is annual. You must fill out a new application every year to qualify.
What does the insurance cover?
This plan covers “accidental damage” to the electronic device and is designed to limit individual financial responsibility for any damage as described in the NW Technology Handbook.
What if my student doesn't take their technology home?
We understand that for the younger students, devices are kept in the classroom, however, in the event that the district must transition to virtual learning, students will be required to take their devices home to learn.
If damage to the device occurs off school grounds and there is no insurance on the device, all damages will be billed to the student account and a parental responsibility.
What if I don't purchase insurance or fill out a waiver by the due date?
Uninsured devices with repairs that can be fixed by the district will be charged $75 flat rate for all damages, lost charger cords, missing buttons, etc.
If it is not repairable, uninsured devices will be charged a total replacement fee ranging from $225 - $300 depending on the device. Please see our Technology Handbook for a list of fees.
What if someone steals my student's uninsured technology?
It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to cover the cost of district-issued accessories in the event of theft, loss or damage due to abuse or misuse. If the item is stolen and uninsured, the total cost of replacement ranging from $225 - $300 will be charged.
