NJSD Child Find Screenings!
Child Find Developmental Screening Dates
The Neenah Joint School District conducts developmental screenings for preschool-age children who reside within the school district. A Child Find Developmental Screening can answer many questions about your child’s development. The purpose of the screening is to provide you with developmental information on your child and to identify children who may need access to our Early Childhood programs at Washington.
- September 14, 2018
- November 9, 2018
- January 11, 2019
- March 8, 2019
Here is what to expect:
- After you check in, you and your child are taken to a classroom where his/her speech, language, concepts, and motor skills are screened.
- Your child is screened at three different stations by early childhood teachers and a speech-language pathologist.
- During this process you are asked to fill out a parent questionnaire asking about your child’s social-emotional and self-help skills.
- Upon completion of the screening, the results will be shared with parents. If your child’s screening results indicate a potential delay(s) a referral for an evaluation may be initiated and will be discussed at the post screening conference.
- You can help yourself to informational and community resource flyers.
If you have, or know of someone who has, a child who is between the ages of 2 years 9 months and 5 years old (and IS NOT currently enrolled in the NJSD 4K program) and would like to schedule a screening appointment, you may complete the online child find screening request form. If you have additional questions or need assistance, please call 751-6990 ext. 24100.
The screenings are FREE and typically last one hour.
We need substitutes!
The Neenah Joint School District would like to hire and retain qualified teacher and support staff substitutes. If you have an associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university, and complete a substitute teacher training program, you can apply to become a substitute teacher.
CESA 6 is an agency that offers Substitute Teaching Training geared to NEW substitutes and/or those interested in growing their skills as a substitute teacher. At the end of the training, you will be able to apply for a 3-year substitute teacher license. Click HERE for more information regarding Substitute Teacher Training.
The District is also in need of support staff substitutes. There are many opportunities to support students and staff throughout the District. You have the option to accept assignments that work for you. Flexible starting and ending times will be considered based on individual assignments.
If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher or support staff substitute, please complete an application on the WECAN website. Teacher Substitute candidates should apply to Vacancy #39096 and Support Staff Substitutes should apply to Vacancy #39097.
If you have any questions, please contact Janet Linke at 920-751-6800, ext. 10109 or jlinke@neenah.k12.wi.us
