Maverick Minutes
Week of April 11-15
The Homestretch!
I had the opportunity to coach swimming from summer league to high school for nearly ten years. In every pre-meet speech, I always gave the same last words..."finish fast and hard. If you know anything about touch pads under water, they are sensitive. If my swimmers didn't finish fast and hard, there was a chance that the pad would misread and not record their time. True devastation to work so hard and because of a slow finish, they did what I call, "a near miss."
You all have worked so hard this year and have surpassed my expectations for year one of where HiRMS can go! I know you value every minute and in hindsight during the homestretch, you may second guess your pacing, time out of class, days missed from school, my school-wide project days, etc. However, the homestretch is not for that…it is to work with the time you have as you make the final turn and FINISH STRONG! Make every lesson count, be as punctual as you were in August, please be at your assigned duty, keep grades up-to-date and plan your review to cover what you need. In all things…FINISH STRONG!
I appreciate all that you do! Here's to the homestretch...
