A Message From The Principals
Sandy Bermea - Principal
Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year at Potranco, The Sweetest Place to Learn. This is a journey we never dreamed we would have to travel. I thank you for your patience as we sort out all the details. We are delighted to have the students join us remotely and in-person. Your child has been hard at work this week learning routines and procedures. All of our students have done an amazing job wearing their masks. Thank you for your support in explaining the need for the masks. To all our new parents, I understand this has been difficult for you not to come into the building. This is not the typical environment at Potranco. We welcome our parents and have many family engagement activities. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Visit the Potranco website and join our Facebook page.
Audrey White - Vice Principal
Potranco Families, welcome to the “Sweetest Place to Learn”! Regardless of the current situation, it amazes me how resilient the staff and students are at Potranco Elementary. As we work together through the new norms, I appreciate your patience and dedication. Everyone is working hard to ensure your child’s safety and academic success. I am looking forward to a great year.

Nurse's Office
Christie Neuman - Campus Nurse
Welcome Back!! I am excited to see everyone again and proud of the students for wearing their masks properly and all day!! Parents, please make sure we are evaluating our kiddos before dropping them off for the following symptoms:
~fever of 100.0 or greater
~loss of taste or smell
~cough
~difficulty breathing
~fatigue
~headache
~chills/body aches
~sore throat
~congestion/runny nose
~nausea/vomiting/diarrhea
If a student presents to the clinic with any of these symptoms the likelihood of them needing to be picked up for further evaluation is great, so, please be aware of how they feel or are acting when they are sent to school. With that said, I am so happy to be back. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
Just A Few Reminders
Car Tags
For car dismissal, all vehicles must display a car tag. This should be displayed on the passenger side of your vehicle. If you have not been provided with this tag, please reach out to your child’s teacher. This car tag correlates with a student’s bus tag for identification purposes.
Lunch / Cafeteria
Due to visitor restrictions for student and staff safety, visitors are not allowed during student lunches. Outside lunches are not permitted to be dropped off until further notice. Visit the attached link which provides you a look into our cafeteria and provides you with our campus procedures this year to ensure student safety.
Recess
Students have recess daily with their own classmates.
Student IDs
Students have been provided with individual IDs. Currently teachers are keeping these in the classroom to help students keep track of them. IDs will now be used in the cafeteria for contactless payment and in the library as well.
Potranco Elementary PTO
Thank You to PTO
Potranco would like to give a thank you to our PTO for the time spent decorating the front of the campus for students to enjoy on the first day of school. The PTO also treated the staff to breakfast after a successful 1st week of school!
Because of water donations from parents through PTO, we have been able to provide students with water bottles. Currently, water fountains are not being used for safety measures. We are appreciative of all donations previously made and future donations as well.
Panther Strong
Remember to visit the district’s Panther Strong Start webpage to keep up with the most current information and updates.
