UPDATES AND CHANGES
As of now, APS will officially remain closed through Spring Break and most likely longer.
How else will we support students?
We will continue our plan of posting instructional videos each week. However, next week we will begin providing our students with at-home performance tasks and projects that extend for two weeks at a time, in addition to the videos and digital classes and resources we are already holding. The first project has been created for you! We will share these with our community 3/30.
Can we talk?
This week you will receive invites for digital meetings with the leadership team to go over the projects and any changes you may wish to make. We also just miss you and want to see how you're doing!
Family Needs
Thank you to the entire community for maintaining communication with families and using the contact log. It helps us get support to families as fast as possible. Some of our families have had significantly challenging needs, so thank you to those staff members who have reached out directly when a family has had an emergency or intense needs. Keep it up!
Additional resources have been identified to help make sure all of our tigers are fed and well. This information went out via all of our channels today. Please share with your families as you communicate with them this week.
"We want to let you know about food options available for students in the Carver Cluster this week. First, buses will be delivering food along the Price and Sylvan Middle School bus routes between 11:30 and noon. This includes the Villages of Carver, Amal Heights, and Joyland, though students would normally walk. This is available to all students, not just middle school students. Please check the APS coronavirus website or your school’s social media for the specific bus stops and times. Second, there are two afternoon food options at community sites. The Villages of Carver YMCA will be providing snacks from 2-4pm, and the Arthur Langford Recreation Center has meals between 4-6pm."
Can I volunteer?
Thank you to everyone who has reached out to volunteer! If you would like to volunteer, please reach out to Johnathan Tugman, who is coordinating our volunteer and community efforts.
