John Wycliffe's beliefs and actions
John challenged the church's right to money that it demanded from England, When the Great schism began, he publicly questioned the pope's authority.
John attacked the services and dishonest behavior on the part of the clergy.
Wycliffe criticized the abuse and false teachings in the church. In 1384 he Translated an English Bible- the first complete European translation done in nearly 1,000 years.
The Lollard's wandering preachers he sent throughout England, inspired a spiritual revolution.
My thought about John Wycliffe
I think John Wycliffe was important because without him we would not have a translated English Bible. Since it was translated people who read/speak English can read the English Bible. It was also translated into other langues as well. Life without this contribution would and wouldn't be the same without it because it would be hard for people who speak English would not be able to read it and it would limit the spread of Christianity.
