Valentine's Day Reminders

Deliveries at school for students are prohibited. Please do not send candy, balloons or flowers to your child at school. Thank you!

Unlike last year, we are not having Class Valentine Parties this year. Last year we did, in lieu of spring parties. This year, we will hold spring parties the day before spring break and therefore will not have class parties on Valentine's Day. Your child is allowed to bring in Valentines to the class though! Please refer to your child's teacher for these details.

Thank you!

News from our Reading Coach, Megan Maness

Please read below about these fun events coming up at North Pointe!

Greenville Drive Reading All-Star:

Students will read 5 (on-grade level) books between Monday, February 3rd – Friday, March 6th. If students read 5 books and turn in their Reading Logs, they will earn a ticket to the Celebration Game – Sunday, May 3 @3PM at Fluor Field. Students will bring home their Reading Logs Monday February 3rd. All Reading Logs are due by 2:30pm on March 6th.

One School, One Book (OSOB):

On Friday we had a whole school kick-off to the One School, One Book, Save Me a Seat. On Monday, February 3rd your child will bring home a copy of the book along with a reading calendar. Students will participate in a "Call-in" trivia question as marked on the calendars! If you click the hyperlink you have access to YouTube videos which read aloud each night's reading assignment!

Reading a book together brings the added joy of building and expanding a sense of community among students, parents, teachers, and staff – and beyond.

Literacy Night:

Mark your calendars! The theme of our One School, One Book is kindness and multicultural belonging. We will wrap up our OSOB with Literacy Night on March 5th from 6:00-7:00.

Mrs. West and Ms. Johnson's Kindergarten Class had a blast celebrating the 100th Day of School!

District Calendar Change - IMPORTANT

Due to graduation planning for TL Hanna and Westside, the schedules for the last week of school have changed. Please be aware of the following:

Tuesday, June 2: Full Day of School

Wednesday, June 3: 11:00 Dismissal

Thursday, June 4: 11:00 Dismissal (Last Day of School for Students)

Because of this change to the schedule, we have to move our Awards Day for 1st and 2nd Grades to Thursday, May 28th. 1st and 2nd are the only grade-levels affected by this change. We will announce times closer to the date.
