BSS Weekly Update
December 9th thru December 13th
From the Desk of the Principal
What a jammed packed week of Christmas events coming up here at BSS. Not only do we have our annual Christmas Bazaar tomorrow and Mass with Bishop Reed for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Monday; we also have our amazing annual Christmas concerts on Tuesday and our Barnes and Noble Christmas Book Fair on Wednesday. What a way to get into the Christmas spirit!
Speaking of Christmas spirit, a huge thank you to Angela Paradis and Diane Nealon for all of their hard work in organizing Santa's Workshop. It was a huge success and I heard personally from Santa that he was very impressed with all of our students. Thank you as well to all the volunteers who made this great tradition happen this year.
I look forward to seeing everyone at all of the different events taking place this week!
Blessings,
Dustin
Notes from Nancy
In this season of Advent, the week of HOPE, I pray that everyone will take a few minutes from the busyness of the season and enjoy the simple gifts that God promises us each and every day.
Our students began their pre Advent journey sending Boxes of Joy to children around the world. With the extra items we were able to contribute to Project Do Something, Operation Gratitude, Cradles to Crayons and the Walpole Food Pantry. Our desire to serve others continued with a Thanksgiving food drive, decorating our parish “Giving Tree”, and making 130 Christmas cards for the members of the Walpole Senior Center.
All students at all grade levels are learning more about being models of service and hope for others, not only during the season of Advent but every season. That is who we are as a vibrant, caring community.
Peace,
Nancy
From the Desk of Melissa Dugas - Advancement
A special thank you to everyone who gave to the St. Francis Annual Fund on #GivingTuesday as well asl those who had previously given a gift. We have raised almost $10,000 to date which is 16% of our goal.
We still have a ways to go to reach out goal, but there is still plenty of time to give. We encourage all families to give by December 31st, though payments are accepted until June 30th. No gift is too small and every amount enables us to continue our mission so that more students can experience everything a BSS education offers.
Also, may companies offer a program whereby they will match the value of any gift that is contributed in support of a non-profit organization. Please check with your Human Resources department for proper documentation as an easy way to double your gift.
Thank you!
Melissa
