Fun February!
All About Reading!
MyOn
Remember all APS students have access to books on MyOn through myBackpack! Read a variety of subjects on all levels.
Fulton County Public Library System
No library card needed at FCPLS! Students use their network ID and password to check out books at any Fulton County Public Library. They also have access to the digital media platforms on www.afcpls.org to check out books online, listen to music and movies.
Race2Read
We have logged in over 33,000 minutes. Keep going in and logging in those minutes for our school! Log in with the Beanstack app on myBackpack or download the app to your device from Google Play or iTunes store.
STEM with OSMO
Thanks to Fulton County Public Library, our Pre-K & K students had the opportunity to practice letter recognition and words with the OSMO learning program on Wednesday, February 12th. The more words they know, the more they will be able to read!
Read to the Final Four
Congratulations to our 3rd graders. We did not move to the next round but because we were in 31st place when the next schools advanced, our students will receive a treat from Read to the Final Four since we finished as Piedmont Power Forwards!
Let's Move in Libraries
Let's Move in Libraries visited Friday the 14th to have story time & fun with our Kindergarten students. Besides reading two stories, they practiced some relaxation moves & learned a quick dance routine. This is brought to us from our Fulton County Public Library Outreach Program!
Black History Month
This month, LOK will be celebrating Black History around the globe. They will be learning and studying about Black history from all different continents, highlighting people & places. On February 21st from 9-12, the media center will host the Black History Wax Museum where you can come and see what they have learned!
AR February Incentive!
Congrats to our January AR Winners. They had a blast play "Minute to Win It" games for tickets to earn bags of treats and toys.
Time to start earning points towards the February AR Party.
Pies From Nowhere
The February SEL Book is "Pies From Nowhere," the true story of Georgia Gilmore who along with others, secretly helped to feed and fund the people participating in the Civil rights Movement.
Problem Solving
Our SEL theme is problem solving. In classes, we are exploring skills related to problem-solving and how they help to support learning & positive relationships.
